Madère

L’île de Madère, souvent appelée la Perle de l’Atlantique, Eden ou Paradis, est un parc naturel avec ses 728 Km2 ayant plus de 700 espèces de plantes, dont 100 endémiques. Sous l’eau est également un endroit merveilleux avec une belle visibilité (minimum 15m) et des températures agréables toute l’année.

nom de « Perle de l'Atlantique ».

L’archipel de Madère est situé dans l'océan Atlantique à seulement 500 km du continent africain et 1000 km de la partie continentale du Portugal (1h30m à Lisbonne par avion). Ceci, en plus de l'île du même nom, se compose de l'île de Porto Santo (île d'Or), 40 km au NE de Funchal); les îles Desertas (seulement 3 îlots inhabitables - Deserta Grande, Bugio et Ilhéu Chão, à 20 km au SE de Funchal) et les Îles Selvagens, qui sont une Réserve naturelle, à 280 km de Funchal.

L'île de Madère, souvent appelée la Perle de l'Atlantique, tout cela est un parc naturel avec ses 728 Km2 (57 km à l'E-W de long et 22km de large NS) ayant plus de 700 espèces de plantes, 100 sont endémiques (pas vu dans toute autre partie du monde).

Sa plus haute montagne est Pico Ruivo (1862 m). Administrativement, cette île couvre 10 municipalités et 52 paroisses avec une population totale d’environ 260.000.

​Our filling station with a BAUER compressor is able to make fillings with different breathable blends from air, trimix and with about 40 bottles available. We are also a rebreather friendly center.

Inovação​

Our 8-meter semi-rigid Searibs with a 300 horsepower SUZUKI engine is a boat specially prepared for diving on the island of Madeira. It is equipped with probe, VHF, d-gps, access ladders, oxygen kit and first aid; In short, everything for the safety and well-being of the divers.

Madeira

Madeira island is the main island in the Madeira Archipelago, located southwest from Portuguese coast, in the Atlantic Ocean, and constitutes together with Porto Santo, Ilhas Desertas (Deserted Islands) and Ilhas Selvagens (Wild Islands) the Madeira Archipelago, with the city of Funchal as capital.

Madeira has volcanic origins, with a subtropical weather, being able to find tropic elements in the south coast and tempered weather elements in the north coast. So, annual average temperatures reach, in the south coast, 20ºC and more. Water temperature, one of the most appreciate island’s attribute, vary between 26ºC and 19ºC in winter.

Diving in Madeira has gained increasing importance with those ones who visit the island and wish to see the settled species of these seas, like dolphins, rays, stingrays and even monk seals, one of the most unusual seal in the world that can reach 3 meters long and 400 kg.


Dusky Grouper

The fish adopted as the mascot of Haliotis in Madeira is the Dusky Grouper (Epinephelus marginatus). It measures between 140 and 150 cm and weighs an average of 60 kg. It lives up to 50 years have seen a maximum age of 61 years. It has large and prominent mouth with prominent lips. It is solitary, territorial, a little elusive, but has enough curiosity by divers, namely the ones who live in Garajau Reserve.
